London Zoo

London Zoo contains over 600 species including lions, tigers, primates, giraffes and many more. It is in fact the worlds oldest Scientific Zoo and was first opened in 1828. It is also proud to boast having the worlds first Reptile house in 1849, the first public Aquarium in 1853, first insect house in 1881 and the first children's zoo in 1938.

Location - The zoo is located in the outer circle of Regents Park. It can be reached on foot from Camden tube station. Also during the summer it is possible to take the hourly waterbus service from Camden Lock or Little Venice.

Since opening at the turn of the century the British Airways London eye has become one of the most popular tourist attractions in London. Located on the bank of the river Thames the London Eye sits among many other popular tourist attractions like the Tate Modern and the London Aquarium. The fact is that the London eye is the largest structure of its kind in the world! Add to this the fact that from the top it is possible to see for 40km in all directions and its easy to see why it’s become so popular among tourists and residents alike.

Most of the facilities for the London Eye are located in County Hall, the building immediatelly opposite the London Eye. These facilities include the ticket office, a ticket dispensing machine and a left luggage area, although due to hightened security it may not be possible to leave luggage here currently. Outside County Hall there is also a dedicated London Eye gift shop and cafe. The shop sells a range of quality London Eye merchandise, gifts and guide books.

Tickets for the London Eye are available on the day although there is often a long queue. It is advisable to book tickets in advance to save waiting. There are often discounts available when buying London Eye tickets in conjunction with tickets for other popular tourist attractions such as Madame Tussauds or London Zoo.
